We’re not just in your element; we were born there!

In a factory on the coast of British Columbia — BARE, the brainchild of 2 divers determined on creating a drysuit for the frigid waters of the Canadian Pacific Ocean was born. For over 40 years, Bare has honed their expertise and become obsessed in their pursuit of creating wetsuits, drysuits and accessories that meet these requirements.

Their wetsuits and drysuits use a unique combination of anatomically correct patterns, sophisticated materials and painstaking craftsmanship; along with in-house design and manufacturing facilities to constantly evolve our wetsuit and drysuit design to exceed the expectations of our customers.

WE’RE JUST BREAKING THE SURFACE. Looking to the future, BARE is committed as ever to pushing scuba diving to greater depths and greater discovery.

Introducing the 8/7MM Velocity Ultra Hooded Semi-Dry

If you don’t want to invest in a dry-suit but want to keep warm on your dives the Velocity Semi-Dry Hooded Suit is for you. The suit drastically reduces the water exchange that occurs with a standard wet suit and keeps you warmer for longer periods of time. This means increased comfort, decreased air consumption and longer bottom times.

Just look at this suits features!

The Velocity Ultra is a performance driven wetsuit that features the Progressive Full-Stretch (PFS) construction of the popular Velocity, with the advancement of Ultra Warmth Celliant Infrared Technology. Bare’s greatest innovations in design and development together for longer, more comfortable dives.

The combination of three different full-stretch material types PFS, makes this one of the highest performing mid-priced suits available. We start with Bare-Fit, the foundation of every Bare suit, which uses ergonomic design and intricate shaping patterns with articulated arms and legs. Then we highlight areas of the suit where flexibility and abrasion resistance are essential and incorporate special full-stretch fabrics to maximize performance in these key areas. PFS gives the Velocity Ultra Series a fit and feel unlike any other. What makes the Velocity Ultra Series truly special is that it’s the only mid-priced dive suit to feature the thermal-activated performance of Celliant Infrared Technology. Using minerals woven into the fabric of the suit, Celliant turns wasted body heat into infrared energy, reflecting it back to your body. This results in increased warmth, faster recovery times, and greater stamina for longer, more comfortable dives.

Suit has an attached hood features Celliant lining for additional warmth. 2mm neoprene internal pullover bib for additional warmth and comfort. Front-entry cross-chest heavy-duty plastic dry zipper. 10mm spine and kidney pad to provide extra comfort for tank placement. Seamless underarms for superior comfort when worn on its own, with an additional wet layer or with a BCD. Skin-to-skin double 3mm Glideskin wrist and ankle seals. Embossed back knee flex panels to reduce bulk behind the knee when kicking and crouching. PROTEKT knee protection provides the next generation of abrasion and wear resistance. Anatomically correct pattern for three-dimensional fit throughout for superior fit, comfort and mobility. Suits is equipped with heavy-duty ankle zippers for easy donning and doffing. Double glued construction eliminates water entry through the seams.

Then events somewhat changed that, I began rebuilding myself looking for a passion, a challenge. As if by chance I was thrust into the world of scuba diving, never looking back or dwindling upon a forethought. The course is more than the simple outlines that you would think such a tale contains. It taught me things about myself, it gave me a purpose, a reason to wake up smiling. No words written on this page could whole heartedly describe the experiences, the character building I was oblivious to. As they say, its all easy in retrospect.

The people I went through the journey with and the instructors are a merit to all that is diving, all genuine, kind and inherently patient, helping us along the dimly lit path they themselves had walked shedding light on the passing shadows.

It was a quick 45 minute journey up from Omaha in calm seas, and we took shelter from the ocean swells on the southern side of Sail Rock for the first dive. A large pinnacle out from Mangawhai Heads plunging to 50m+.

Kitting up at Sail Rock

The divers were meet by large stingrays and huge schools of blue mao mao once they entered the water and drifted gently along the deep walls enjoying the excellent visability. From Sail Rock we took a short trip across to Taranga Islands in the Hen and Chicks group for hot drinks and a snack before the second dive.

Having a break between dives.

Our second dive was on a pinnacle rising steeply from a flat white sandy bottom at 25m. Full of small caves and overhangs and adorned with colourful jewel anenomes. The highlights were encounters with large octopus, moray eels and more stingrays.

Octopus at Hen and Chicks

The wind got up a little on the return trip, but we still managed to get back to Omaha by 2pm…plenty of time for a stop at Matakana on the way home for an ice cream !

After a lot of hard work and dedication (and heaps of fun diving) our students head in to the work force as PADI Scuba Instructors, with 5 specialty ratings (Nitrox, Wreck, Deep, Oxygen Provider, Navigation), Medic First Aid Instructors and Emergency First Response Instructors.

This is what they had to say about their course:

EMILY…
“The 9 month course was a life changing experience that I will never forget! It made me more confident. The instructors helped us through everything. Nick was always there to help and he would always do his best to get us through. It was an awesome experience and I can’t wait to see where it takes me. Thanks for everything and I would recommend it to everyone!!

MITCH…
“These 9 months have been the time of my life. I’ve never had so much fun. The instructors helped us get through everything. I’d do it again if I could.”

BLAIR…
“Awesome course, awesome instructors, awesome experience. Feel really confident as an instructor and already have my first job interview in the Bay of Islands”

JAYDEN…
“I would highly recommend this course to any of my friends. Nick and Steph have been the best instructors and really helpful, not just with course stuff but outside problems, especially Steph.”

MITCHELL…
“To sum up everything, I would say that the life experiences and skills that we have been taught will always help us on our journeys. Thanks for everything guys”

JARROD…
“I would like to thank Grant, Shailina, Steph and last but not least Poppa Nick. This year has changed my life and I can now say that I am living the dream. Seeing all the fish and massive smiles on all our dive buddies faces makes all the days studying worthwhile. Thank you for the amazing year from the bottom of my heart”

We have a limited number of Zeagle regulators at clearance prices leading into the Summer season. There is no better time to get yourself into a top quality regulator, or upgrade your existing gear now !

Zeagle is a top quality brand which manufactures and tests all its products in the USA. Check out the Zeagle web site for more information http://www.zeagle.com/why-zeagle/performance .

The Zeagle Envoy starts at entry level prices with all the features, and more, that you’d expect to find in a mid-range regulator…

Zeagle Envoy Regulator – Now only $499 (normally $670)

The ZEAGLE Onyx Regulator outperforms many, much more expensive regulators with outstanding reputations – why? The Internal-Structure allows Direct-Airflow through the 1st Stage, providing Lower-Turbulence for Outstanding-Performance..

Zeagle Onyz Scuba Diving Regulator – Now only $595 (normally $995)

The ZEAGLE Flat Head 7 is ZEAGLE’s flagship regulator. The Black Chrome Plated Marine Brass First Stage Regulator Body is a Balanced Diaphragm Design which is Inherently Environmentally Sealed. The diaphragm membrane transmits the pressure changes to the internal mechanism eliminating the need for the surrounding water to enter the intricate mechanism. The benefit of this type of first stage design is that none of the internal parts are exposed to contaminants such as salt, sand, chlorine or pool acids..

Zeagle Flathead 7 – Now only $895 (normally $1,295)

While stocks last we are offering all these regulators in both Yoke and DIN first stages. The DIN first stage has long been popular in Europe, and is now becoming more popular around the world due to its reliability. Because of its design it is almost impossible to blow the cylinder valve o-ring, and is also a more low profile attachment.

Zeagle Envoy Regulator, DIN version – Now only $499 (normally $670)
